“it's simply the same great album they'd made two years earlier”

AllMusic, John Bush7

View (DJ Naoyaman)

This album came out in Japan two weeks before the UK.

Released in Japan on 7 June 1999 and in the UK on 21 June, it went to No. 1 in the UK.53

The guest list is a row of rock-band singers: Noel Gallagher on "Let Forever Be"; New Order's Bernard Sumner and Primal Scream's Bobby Gillespie on "Out of Control"; Mazzy Star's Hope Sandoval on "Asleep from Day"; Mercury Rev's Jonathan Donahue on "Dream On".45

The sleeve and the single covers are Kate Gibb's silkscreens. The engineer was Steve Dub.48

Twenty years on, in 2019, it became the first album in their catalogue to get a deluxe edition.6

A country that got it two weeks early; the first record dug back up twenty years later.

Translated from the Japanese original.
