A Tribe Called Quest / 1991 / New York

## Bustaの登場を、Q-Tipは自分のヴァースから準備した

「Scenario」でBusta Rhymesを追うなら、その前のQ-Tipのパートから聴きたい。2012年のXXLでBustaは、そこに挟まる自分の部分をQ-Tipが書いたと明かしている。登場を予告する仕掛けだ。最後のヴァース全体をQ-Tipが書いた、という話ではない。

同じ回想では、制作中に参加者が増え、Q-TipがTribeとLeaders of the New Schoolだけに絞り直したという。そこでラップを改稿し、Bustaの内容を聴いたQ-Tipが最後に置くと決めた。完成形は、集まった声をそのまま並べただけではなかった。

1991年の『The Low End Theory』では最後の曲にあたる。声が交代する前に、次のラッパーを迎える部分へも耳を向けてみたい。
