“I have loved cycling since I was a boy”

Tom Rowlands. On writing the Olympic theme3

View (DJ Naoyaman)

A song written for Olympic cycling reached No. 9 in the UK.

It was written as the theme for the track cycling venue at the London 2012 Olympics and released on 30 July. It is on no album.312

Tom spoke of loving cycling since he was a boy, of always feeling a link between electronic music and the repetition of cycling, and of Kraftwerk sealing that link with "Tour de France".3

Kraftwerk's name keeps coming up, all the way from the start of their debut single.5

Someone who loves repetition, writing for a sport made of laps. I don't think they could have cast it better.

Translated from the Japanese original.
