View (DJ Naoyaman)

It's an album, but there are no gaps between the songs.

Released on 7 April 1997, it was their first UK No. 1 album and reached No. 14 in America. It was recorded at Orinoco Studios in South London.83

The running order is built like a continuously mixed DJ set: before one track ends, the next comes in.5

It is sequenced, I think, for someone who takes it all in from start to finish rather than picking out one song at a time. A DJ's album.

The guests are Noel Gallagher and Beth Orton, with Mercury Rev's Jonathan Donahue on clarinet.4

A manager at Astralwerks, their American label at the time, later recalled that those videos gave young Americans a glimpse of a far more interesting and inviting world and culture.5
